Booker T’s Job vs Miz’s Elimination Chamber Spot

The rivalry started when Miz tweeted about how washed up Booker T was as a wrestler. Booker challenged him to a match and won. Miz didn’t take kindly to getting beat, and the following week got his revenge on Booker by attacking him and then beating him in a tag match. The following week, Booker attacked Miz after he was talking trash on Booker, forwarding the feud even more. Then it was this past week that the stipulations were set: Miz, who earned the sixth spot in the Elimination Chamber, would put that on the line with Booker T, who would have to retire if he lost.

Shield and Chris Jericho vs Antonio Cesaro and Rhode Scholars

The teams may be odd partnerships but the Shield and Jericho were forged together by respect following a match between Jericho and Rollins.  The Shield chased off an attack by Rhodes Scholars on Jericho, leading to an alliance.  Cesaro got involved after matches with Jericho and Rollins ended in losses.  The Scholars and Cesaro cost Jericho a shot at the Elimination Chamber and the six men brawled in the ring, leading to this match.

Justin Gabriel (C) vs Zack Ryder vs X-Pac vs Sin Cara
US Title Match

There isn’t much of a rivalry within this division. This match was put together by Roose because he saw three very worthy contenders for the US Belt. Zack Ryder had been wrestling pretty well, looking impressive in his losses. X-Pac was trying to rebound from a loss in the cage to Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental belt at the Royal Rumble. Sin Cara looked very impressive the past month, and was also cost a shot at the US belt when the New Age Outlaws attacked him in his match against Gabriel. Gabriel had been great for the month of February, winning all three of his matches.

Raw Elimination Chamber: Mark Henry vs Big Show vs Brock Lesnar vs Edge vs Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle
WWE No. 1 Contender

After Jack Swagger was injured, Raw was left without a #1 contender for Wrestlemania.  Commissioner Real Deal declared that the Elimination Chamber match would be made for the #1 contender and that he put qualifying matches on Raw.  Steve Austin and Kurt Angle both won singles matches, while Mark Henry and the Big Show dismantled the APA to enter the match, followed by a staredown of the two big men.  Brock Lesnar injured Edge the night after the Royal Rumble and Edge demanded a match with Lesnar.  Real Deal took it another way, putting the two in a match as a tag team to qualify.  However, Edge was not cleared to compete.  Despite this, Lesnar qualified the two anyway in a handicap match.

Beth Phoenix (C) vs Trish Stratus
Divas Title Match

Trish earned herself a shot at the title with a huge win over Kharma on Raw. In the mean time, Beth Phoenix lost to Eve before successfully defending her title against Eve again this past week. It’ll be her second title defense during the week, and Stratus is hoping to get the best of Phoenix in the Royal Rumble rematch.

Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio vs Team Hell No
Tag Title Match

The Tag team titles still have not been decided after the controversial Royal Rumble finish. Team Hell No won the match, but on a technicality and did not win the belts. It was assumed that the title match at Elimination Chamber would be a repeat but the New Age Outlaws ran into Smackdown commissioner Roose, who gave the #1 contender slot to Kofi Kingston & Rey Mysterio. But some harassment from the Outlaws got them a shot at Roose’s team and their #1 contender. Roose’s team earned the right to face Daniel Bryan & Kane, who roughed up the Outlaws and Roose’s team prior to the deciding match #1 this past Friday.

CM Punk (C) vs Alberto Del Rio
WWE Title Match

CM Punk earned the respect of WWE Veteran Steve Austin, but not of Alberto Del Rio.  Del Rio, who was the second to last man in the Royal Rumble, picked up three victories in a row following the Rumble.  After Jack Swagger’s injury, commissioner Real Deal was forced to think of a challenger for Punk’s WWE title. Del Rio said he as a worthy contender with his record and Real Deal agreed. That night, Del Rio cost Punk a match against Kurt Angle by distracting the champion.  The next week, Punk accused Del Rio of having something to do with Swagger’s injury, to which Del Rio denied.

Smackdown Elimination Chamber: Triple H (C) vs John Cena vs Sheamus vs Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett, ??
WH Title Match

Triple H was given his choice of two contenders. He chose Sheamus and John Cena, two guys who both were feuding and fighting over who deserved to destroy Triple H. Then there was Sheamus and Randy Orton, who both earned the favor of the commissioner. The sixth spot will be determined at the beginning of the night, but despite the winner, it’s safe to assume that Booker T or The Miz will be tired heading into the chamber match.
